Join us for a special presentation geared for teens on sea turtle conservation. Join us for a special presentation on sea turtle conservation and research, presented by Kristen Mazzarella, Senior Biologist with Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium. Kristen manages over 250 turtle patrol volunteers who monitor local beaches for sea turtle nests. Since 1998, she has studied sea turtles in North Carolina, South Carolina and now Florida and her varied experience includes genetics, stranding response, rehabilitation, necropsy, satellite tagging, and live trawl and seine captures. This presentation is geared twoards teens interested in pursuing an environmental career. This program is suitable for teens. Reservations are Required. Program sponsored by the Manatee County Youth Environmental Action Committee in partnership with Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium and Manatee County Parks and Natural Resources. Drinks and snacks will be available for a $1 donation to United Way. Cash only.
