PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — A 65-year-old woman died after a car crash in Nokesville on Friday afternoon, according to the Prince William County Police Department. Two other people were taken to a hospital, but their injuries were not considered life-threatening.
The crash occurred in the 13700 block of Nokesville Road around 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 24.
Through their investigation, authorities determined that the driver of a 2016 Hyundai Elantra was travelling westbound on Nokesville Road when the car crossed over the road's center line. The Elantra then sideswiped a 2015 Honda Pilot that was travelling eastbound, according to the police department.
The Hyundai then continued in the opposite lane where it struck a 2000 Suzuki Grand Vitara, police said.
The driver of the Hyundai was taken to a nearby hospital where she died from injuries suffered in the crash. Authorities identified her as Ann Louise Adams, a 64-year-old Culpeper resident.
A driver and a passenger in the Suzuki were also taken to a hospital to receive treatment for injuries. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening, police said.
The police department said that alcohol and drugs were not factors in the crash. They were not sure if speed was a contributing factor.
Authorities also claimed that the driver of the Hyundai was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
