The Dallas Police Department welcomes residents of Dallas to attend our Citizens Police Academy The Dallas Citizens Police Academy is part of the community policing efforts of the Dallas Police Department. Each week, the class focuses on a different aspects of law enforcement giving students an overview of the Department's duties and responsibilities. Some of the units covered are: Community Outreach Firearms Safety and Shooting Fundamentals (range day) 9-1-1 Center Criminal Investigations Uniform Patrol Gangs Use of Force Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (C.R.A.S.E.) Uniform Patrol Narcotics Traffic Stops and DUI enforcement The 12-week program is open to all Paulding residents and citizens who work in Paulding County, 21 years of age or older. Applicants must be willing to submit to a criminal history check and a driving record check prior to being accepted as a Citizen’s Police Academy student. Applications can be picked up at the Dallas Police Department Monday-Friday 8am-5pm or one can be emailed if requested.
