Description

Press release from the Dallas Regional Chamber - Blog: September 15, 2021 Spanning from September 15 to October 15, Hispanic Heritage Month highlights the contributions and culture of the Hispanic community. The commemoration, which began in 1968, kicks off on September 15 to commemorate many Latin American countries' independence celebrations. For example, Guatemala and Costa Rica observe their independence from Spain on September 15, while Mexico celebrates September 16. Belize marks its independence from Great Britain on September 21. This year, the month-long theme is Esperanza: A Celebration of Hispanic Heritage and Hope, which recognizes the diversity within the Hispanic and Latinx community, while also acknowledging its strength as a whole. To celebrate Hispanic Heritage month, you can attend festivals, bring guest speakers into your workplace, or support local Hispanic-owned businesses.
