By LMCS Staff Report, the Lake & McHenry County Scanner: The McHenry County Department of Health announced they are no longer offering COVID-19 vaccinations at their McHenry clinic but will continue offering COVID-19 testing. The COVID-19 clinic, located at 1900 North Richmond Road in McHenry, was opened in February. The site officially ended COVID-19 vaccinations on Saturday, according to the McHenry County Department of Health. The site, which is operated by Curative, will remain open to continue offering COVID-19 testing. "Vaccine is widely available throughout McHenry County," the health department said in a statement. Those who are looking to find a location providing COVID-19 vaccinations can visit Vaccines.gov. "Immunity caused by infection of the virus is limited in its protection against COVID-19. One recent study suggests that you are twice as likely to get reinfected if you are unvaccinated," said Dr. Laura Buthod, MD, Medical Advisor. Those who need help registering for the vaccine are asked to call the McHenry County Department of Health COVID-19 Call Center at 815-334-4045. McHenry County residents who need assistance with transportation to their vaccination appointment can call the Call Center to be connected to transportation services.
