UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A grand jury has indicted Brian Boyd in the death of "Gone Girl" and Broadway actor Lisa Banes, who died in June after being hit by a motorized scooter.
Police arrested Boyd, an Upper West Side resident, in August. He is accused of running a red light on June 4 and hitting Banes, who was crossing Amsterdam Avenue at West 64th Street. Police said Boyd fled the scene.
Boyd faces charges of second-degree manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, leaving the scene of an accident without reporting, failure to yield to a person with the right of way - physical injury, and failure of a driver to exercise due care - serious physical injury. He was indicted Monday in New York County Supreme Court.
As a condition of his bail, Boyd may not operate any motorized vehicles.
