Here are the top stories today in Atlanta: Grady Memorial Hospital is having to make tough choices in the face of an influx of COVID patients. Dr. Sanjay Gupta reports from Grady, where he's worked as a neurosurgeon for over 20 years. Metro Atlanta's largest safety-net hospital and Level 1 trauma center is facing unprecedented challenges due to the pandemic. (Northwest Georgia News)A voter registration event is today at Atlanta-area MARTA stations. In honor of National Voter Registration Day, MARTA will host a nonpartisan voter registration from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at several stations. Individuals interested in registering should bring a driver's license or state ID card or be prepared to give the last four digits of their Social Security number. (Macon Telegraph) Atlanta Braves begin a critical three-game series against the Phillies at Truist Park. The postseason is essentially starting early for the Braves and Phillies with this series. Chances are, only one of these teams will qualify for the playoffs, and will do so as National League East champion. In investigating a rape that happened Sept. 18 at the park near Edgewood Avenue, the APD Special Victims Unit released surveillance images of a man they consider a person of interest. (WSB Atlanta)A mural celebrating 50 years of Atlanta Pride has been unveiled. Avery Harden, also known as Earth Mama, created the artwork on the formerly bare brick wall on the side of Dad's Garage Theatre on Ezzard Street. The Atlanta Pride Committee and the Consulate General of Canada teamed up for the project, reflecting 50 years of history in the Atlanta LGBTQ+ community.
