Description

Hey there - Looking to form or join something like the subject line suggests. Original or orig/covers as desire & material guide. Something where we: -Like to stretch out the grooves fairly often, -Don’t have to feel like we need to set on one “sound” or vibe, and -Aren't overly committed to or bound by perfection and lofty aspirations. One nation under a groove, so to speak. If I have a goal, it's mainly to play fun and musically/spiritually/creatively rewarding gigs, that hopefully circulate & generate some energy and enthusiasm among audience and players. Recording may be nice but not required nor the main focus. Not quitting the day job again unless it’s truly inevitable. I’m - early 40s and open-minded, tho playing with a core group +/- 10yrs may be helpful. - Multi-instrumental & sing, mainly guitars (30y), bass, percussion, keys, and some woodwinds & kit. - Have a significant breadth of gear, including above-basic PA stuff. - Would love to start as 4-6 piece and at some point include horns/winds. My background includes roots rock, reggae, hip hop, ambient, folk, psychedelic, four-on-the-floor, funk, disco, house, singer-songwriter, and more – usually & preferably with multiple feels in a given group. But if you have something developed and working, I’m open to a more focused approach – esp. if it’s funk, disco, electro- and/or rhythm-focused. Would love to meet folks and start putting something together, maybe 1-2x every week or two as we get into fall. Something with enough motivation to get moving and not stagnate but not too serious about at the get-go. Have a bunch of material, and/or co-develop, use yours, get groove together on covers, etc. Please feel free and contact if this sounds potentially up your alley ;) p.s. I uploaded a very incomplete list of example influences (see pics), not intended as limitation just as a little insight fyi. That said, I'd still like to focus on the rock n' soul, rainbow-disco-funk, chillout, and generally beat-driven end of the spectrum, perhaps with smattering of anything else.
