A female school teacher allegedly raped one of her students after meeting with him, it is alleged. Krystal Jackson, 39, who works at at a school in California, US, was arrested on Friday, September 4, under suspicion of four counts of rape, oral copulation with a child, lewd acts with a child, communicating with a child to commit a felony and meeting with a child for lewd purposes. Police say they believe her 14-year-old victim is safe but fear he might not be the only one targeted by Jackson, KSEE reported. Fresno County Sheriff Lt. Brandon Pursell said: "Mrs. Jackson is in custody tonight. "We believe that our victim is safe, which we are grateful for, but we don’t know if there are other victims." The authorities launched an investigation into the teacher's alleged sexual assault following a tip off to the sheriff’s office. According to the Fresno County Sheriff's Office, the alleged crimes took place over the past year. During that time, Jackson was leading one-on-one independent study sessions. Lt. Pursell added: "The worst part of this is that our victim was abused, that is number one. But also the fact that our suspect is in a position of trust." Jackson had worked for several other school districts in the area, according to Fox News. Since the arrest, Kings Canyon Unified School District has issued a statement making clear that it will be working with the authorities throughout the investigation. The District said: "The safety of students and staff members continues to be a top priority and the district will provide counselling and support services to any students or staff members in need. "The District cannot comment on confidential personnel matters." Jackson’s bail was set at $215,000, [£155,000] and the investigation into the matter is ongoing. (Reminds me of Humboldt County's fabulous Academy of the Redwoods. Gee, I wonder why.)
