Meet handsome, sweet, athletic Rex

This handsome lover boy is full of personality. Rex is dark chocolate brown brindle, approximately 2 years old and weighs around 54lbs. He is a love bug lap dog. He is smart (untangles himself from the leash, finds the balls that appear to have gone missing, is always alert and looking around, watches tv). Rex is very athletic, loves walks, and although he pulls on the leash, he is a quick learner and can be trained out of pulling. He would like nothing more than to play ball all day but can entertain himself playing with his toys or napping. He would be a great frisbee partner. Rex is a bit of a goofy guy who’s a little clumsy but really is just one big puppy. He minds most of the time but can sometimes be a bit stubborn. He’s not a barker and has shown no aggressive behavior. He is comfortable with humans and other dogs. We have been leaving Rex alone for 3-5 hours at a time and he completely behaves himself, and although happy to see us when we return does not go all crazy. He is a sweet boy who loves being with his humans. Rex is an awesome dog and would do really well with a person or family with an active lifestyle. He would be the perfect running partner. Rex would do well in a home where he is the only pet or one that has an older confident but social dog to be his buddy, sibling and mentor. Rex was rescued from an elderly lady in Mexico who kept him on a chain, often without food or water. We are fostering him in Portland while he searches for his loving forever family and home.
