Description

Very experienced older guitarist/singer and bass player looking for experienced drummer for 3 piece start up. We are looking for an older, seasoned musician who knows their instrument. We need someone with rehearsal space at the present time. (I'm working on a space but it won't be anytime soon.) We are looking for a drummer that is not in another band or bands. We need someone who is available. We are looking for someone who is not in a big hurry to gig and who is not in it for the money. We need someone who is willing to learn multiple set lists and who loves to learn new songs and who is willing to do original music. A set list that is limited and never changing will not work for us. As for the "different" part. We are looking for a drummer who is willing to play tunes that are fresh. Not the same old hits that every classic rock band seems to think "people want to hear". No worn out tunes like Working for the Weekend, Sweet Home Alabama, Brown Sugar, Mustang Sally, Tush, Jesse's Girl, Summer of '69, Honky Tonk Woman, Talk Dirty to Me etc, etc. (Not that we don't like those tunes. It's just that everyone plays them. And so have we. For many, many, years.) We are looking for someone who is interested in playing progressive blues like Humble Pie, Savoy Brown, Moby Grape, Cream, early Jeff Beck, early Stones, early Who, Beatles, Spooky Tooth, Cactus, Captain Beyond. Mostly late 60s, early 70s British prog blues. Songs from the late 70s and the 80s are ok as long as it's not the same old classic rock songs that are played all the time. Also some R&B, maybe even a few jazz tunes. We both live north of DFW but are willing to drive to Denton or McKinney area for the right drummer.
