Repeating Cloud Records Launch Party (Night 2) ALL AGES Repeating Cloud Records Launch Party (Night 2) Well, it's nearly two years late but here's the official launch party for Repeating Cloud! Things were busy in the late part of 2019 getting the label going, then things were busy with the same bullshit that tied up everyone else's schedule in recent memory. Many of the 8 bands playing Friday and Saturday had releases come out while folks were still indoors, and a few have releases coming soon. On Friday we've got the live debut of That Hideous Sound. That Hideous Sound is a solo recording project by Elijah Crissinger and they put out a 7” in May of 2021. “How Many Times” from that EP is a strong front runner for catchiest pop song of the year. https://thathideoussound.bandcamp.com/album/that-hideous-sound-ep Crunchcoat ( @crunchcoat ) released their most recent EP, Jellyfish, in February 2021. The lathe cuts of this EP sold out in two days, but we've still got tapes available. In addition to the gorgeous pop songs that everyone's come to expect from Danny Bailey, this EP also features two stunners from Jason Unterreiner. https://crunchcoat.bandcamp.com/album/jellyfish-2 Lemon Pitch ( @lemonpitch ) launched the label in March 2020 with their debut album Flat Black Sea. Songwriters Brock Ginther, Alex Merrill, and Galen Richmond are all fixtures of the Portland music scene and have been in too many bands to list here (okay just a few: Burr, Midwestern Medicine, Cuss, Computer at Sea). https://lemonpitch.bandcamp.com/album/flat-black-sea Rounding out Friday night is FonFon Ru ( @FonFonRu ). FonFon Ru re-released their 2019 debut Death and Texas on cassette in July 2020. Their second album, which is gonna off socks all around the block, will be released on Repeating Cloud as soon as we get the vinyl back from the plant. Look for a lot more buzz about this one soon! https://fonfonru.bandcamp.com/album/death-and-texas On Saturday we've got Heaven's Cameras ( @heavenscameras ), which is a solo project from Alex Merrill. The Heaven's Cameras debut album Shutters Firing is gorgeous, gloomy and autumnal. We've just recently approved the test pressings for Shutters Firing, so look for a release in late 2021. https://heavenscameras.bandcamp.com/track/fiscal-weeks-demo Snake Lips ( @snakelipsmusic ) formed during the pandemic and has just recently started playing live. So far all their live sets have positively knocked it out of the park. They've got an EP coming out in November released collaboratively by Repeating Cloud and Totally Real Records. Records. https://snakelips.bandcamp.com/album/melt-the-sun Peachier ( @peachierpop ) are the most recent addition to the label. Their excellent 2019 debut, Life is Peachier, will be re-released on 7” and available for the first time at the show. Check out the five gems from this EP over here: https://peachier.bandcamp.com/album/life-is-peachie Lastly, the great Mouth Washington ( @mouthwashington ) will be rounding out the night. Their most recent album, Remiss, was released on vinyl in August of 2021. Remiss, a complex and emotional piece of work, is mandatory listening. https://mouthwashington.bandcamp.com/album/remiss An all ages all inclusive music venue supporting the arts in their many forms.
