Join us for a 2 hour walking tour within the Olympic National Forest and learn about our native wild mushrooms! Meet us at Hood Canal Adventures' Basecamp store/office in Brinnon before following your guide, Professional Forager and Herpetologist Jerry Novak, into the Olympic National Forest on the hunt for wild mushrooms! Learn about the edible and non-edible mushrooms you will find and how to make a spore print for identification. Drink a cup of hot tea with native edible plants your guide will find along the way, and bring a lunch if the weather is pleasant enough to dine al fresco by the river. This is an easy walking tour suitable for all ages. The group will not be harvesting large quantities of fungi during the tour but we hope you can learn some skills to start foraging on your own!
