Wild & Ornamental Cherries (Leaf Edition) – one in a series of genus-specific tree-tours sponsored by The Dendro Lab NYC in Central Park Many of our most common commercial fruiting trees belong to the rose family. These trees include, cherries, apples/crabapples, pears, and plums, in addition to hawthorns and serviceberries. An alternate version of this walk in spring will look closely at their flowers, whereas this walk will distinguish them by their leaves. Please note: Meeting spot is across the street from the American Museum of Natural History at the bronze bust of Alexander Von Humboldt at CPW and West 77th Street This entrance to the park is aptly called "Naturalists' Gate." About your guide: Carey is a professional photographer and filmmaker whose first love is natural history.
