Learn the basics of the bundle/eco-print natural dye technique in this fun, fall workshop. Grateful Harvest: Natural Bundle-DyeingSaturday, October 16, 3:30-5pm (Rain date: Sunday, October 17, 3:30-5pm) Instructor: Amber Ostaszewski Class fee: $25 Materials fee: $25 for instructor provided supplies No experience needed Class Limit: 15 Join us for honoring the fall season with natural color harvested with gratitude, right out of the Guild house's dye garden using a bundle-dyeing technique. We'll explore the colors that come from a variety of plants, the benefits of using natural dye, the process of bundle-dyeing/eco printing, and socialize with old and new friends amidst the garden. Participants will each walk away with their own botanically-dyed linen table runner to use for their own fall get-togethers and celebrations for years to come! Materials students need to supply: Please bring your craziest/coziest/most meaningful mug, a conversation piece if you will – we will provide hot-spiced cider and herbal tea to sip on while outside to put it to use.Dress for the weather as we will be outside, wearing layers as approriate and garden-worthy shoes are a must!Bring a folding/camp chair to sit on.$25 materials fee, payable to the instructor, to cover one prepared (scoured and mordanted) 100% linen table runner (14" x 36").Questions about the class? Effective August 26, 2021 For everyone’s safety, you are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and to wear a mask when inside the Guild House. Your fee will be refunded if the class is canceled or changed to a different date. Three registrations are required for a class to be held. Students will be notified before the start date if a class is canceled due to an insufficient number of students. Eventbrite processing and credit card payment fees will not be refunded if a student cancels for any reason. The Weavers Guild of Greater Cincinnati, Inc. was created in 1948 as a non-profit educational organization to promote interest in handweaving. Today, the Guild offers education in a wide range of fiber processes and techniques, including weaving, felting, spinning, basketry, knitting, and dyeing. Guild members are from the Cincinnati metropolitan area and surrounding communities, as well as from Kentucky and Indiana. Members range in experience from beginners to professionals. All benefit from the Guild's priorities: education through classes, workshops, programs, study groups; sharing information and fiber techniques with other members and community groups; and promoting and supporting local fiber producers and businesses. After 50 years of meeting in various churches throughout Greater Cincinnati, the Guild has its own home at 4870 Gray Road in Spring Grove Village.
