Beginning Weaving on a Floor Loom – Part II Weaving a multi-weave structure gamp Beginning Weaving on a Floor Loom – Part II             Weaving a multi-weave structure gamp Saturdays, October 16 & October 23 9:30am-3:30pm (both days) $130.00 Instructor: Linda Rouse Materials fee (approximately $15) payable to the instructor in class Class Limit: 4 During this two day class you will have the opportunity to weave and complete a multiple weave structure “gamp” on a floor loom. The weave structures included will be plain weave, twill, overshot, rosepath, and huck. Under the guidance of the instructor, you will wind a warp, dress and thread a loom, build on your knowledge of reading and interpreting drafts, and learn more about various weave structures in the gamp. This class is for those who have taken Beginning Weaving Part I AND/OR for those with some weaving experience OR for someone who hasn’t woven in awhile and wants to get back into weaving.  Bring a lunch and beverages. A refrigerator and microwave are available. Effective August 26, 2021 For everyone’s safety, you are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and to wear a mask when inside the Guild House. Your fee will be refunded if the class is canceled or changed to a different date. Three registrations are required for a class to be held. Students will be notified before the start date if a class is canceled due to an insufficient number of students. Contact the Education Committee. The Weavers Guild of Greater Cincinnati, Inc. was created in 1948 as a non-profit educational organization to promote interest in handweaving. Today, the Guild offers education in a wide range of fiber processes and techniques, including weaving, felting, spinning, basketry, knitting, and dyeing. Guild members are from the Cincinnati metropolitan area and surrounding communities, as well as from Kentucky and Indiana.  Members range in experience from beginners to professionals. All benefit from the Guild's priorities: education through classes, workshops, programs, study groups; sharing information and fiber techniques with other members and community groups; and promoting and supporting local fiber producers and businesses.  After 50 years of meeting in various churches throughout Greater Cincinnati, the Guild has its own home at 4870 Gray Road in Spring Grove Village.
