So in that sense, then bands like metallica.bdidnt sellout. I agree with what you are saying, but I'd like to add that people claim Metallica sold out. But if you pay attention they had a different "sound" on every album. Their style didn't change, and their goals were clear. They play(ed) the music THEY WANTED TO. And they played for THEIR FANS. They were still playing their music. Just because people find away to be successful. Doesn't mean you get to claim they sold out. They spent years mastering their arts to their ability. They are a tight band that sounds good. The drummer was better in the 90s but people, Get old.( Except Danny Carey, he gets better with age. Like Maynard's wine.) So whatever band pissed you off this time because they breached stadium level or what ever. Or they had a hit song. So they make a few talk shows, Sure a radio hit.(like people listen to the radio nowadays) But understand, A musician, Wants to make money off their music. Tour and play for crowds. Continue making music because it's their passion and living. Be able to be musician, retire and live happily, till they kick the bucket.
