Oakland Transformation on October 6th will be filled with people mingling, Bay Area Makers sharing, tasty food, libations & YOU! Friends and Family (I'm an only child and you have no choice with me; FAMILY!!!)! I invite you to safely come together in a gorgeous spot to meet your neighbors and allies from other Bay Area beautiful locations. Though I initially came up with the idea to bring all of YOU together because of my new home purchase ... I quickly pivoted to an idea much more grand. Oakland Transformation is a group name I created months ago on WhatsApp. There are now roughly 40 or so members on our group app and we use it to communicate chiefly about when we're weekly going to meetup to Beautify our Gorgeous Lake Merritt. There is SO, SO much else I and many of my allies wish to accomplish towards Oakland's further Beautification/Transformation. October 6th (5:30-7) represents the beginning of this process (more to share about this at that time). During the 90 minute coming together attendees will be treated to the following: ***PLEASE RSVP BY FRIDAY, OCTOBER 1 in order to have the necessary time to order the accurate amount of Ethiopian food, beer + wine. - A variety of Oakland + Bay Area Movers & Shakers will share how they are Positively Impacting US, Our Community and Our World - Hanging Out on Gorgeous Lake Merritt (right across the street from 1 Lakeside Dr. and near Lake Chalet) + Hills+++ Covid Safe Views - Tasty Ethiopian (veggie, vegan and meat options) food from a local Oaktown restaurant that has struggled and SURVIVED during covid (wonderful opportunity to support, support!!) - Beer and Wine - Mingling with Simply Amazing Individuals from all walks of life who have at least one thing in common: LOVE OF OAKLAND! ***PLEASE RSVP BY FRIDAY, OCTOBER 1 in order to have the necessary time to order the accurate amount of Ethiopian food, beer + wine. Following are brief speaker Bios: Sean Pritchard & his Amazing Partner Alyssa - Co Founders of Inhabit Inhabit is a wellness company based in Sonoma, CA that helps people evolve their daily habits to create mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing. Through the Inhabit Method, members learn how to integrate ancient wellness practices into their lifestyle such as movement, meditation, breath work, nutrition, and connecting with nature. Inhabit offers an on-demand video library and guides on nutrition, daily habits, and eco-friendly living. We also provide 1:1 personal training and team experiences for businesses. Hossain Albgal - Fellow, The Aspen Institute At the Aspen Institute we are working to create employment pathways for Global Opportunity youth; young people between 15-29 that are unemployed, not in school or underemployed. Our focus is helping youth connect with a sense of purpose and belonging. Maureen Miller - Co Founder of Black To Yoga+++ Maureen has lived in Oakland since 1999 and has seen the town go through massive changes during this time. In 2018, Maureen co-created Black to Yoga, an organization dedicated to bringing the transformative power of yoga to the Afrikan Diaspora. Teaching yoga is Maureen's calling in life, and she intends to answer this call to the best of her ability each and every time she steps on her mat to teach. Victor Diaz - Co Founder of Renegade Running Victor Diaz is a lifelong competitive runner and athlete. Born and raise in San Jose, Victor attended UCLA and is a 2:30 marathoner and sub 10 hour Ironman Athlete.. He has also coached high school Cross-Country and has a 20+ year background in public education as the founder of Berkeley's only charter school in 2010. Victor is inspired by how running can bring US together. He brings his passions for sport, health, community, and activism to Renegade Running. He is a DieHard Oakland Resident and is committed to using Running, and Renegade Running, as a vehicle for bringing together diverse communities. Randy Wells - Founder of RockRidge Rockridge is an Oakland based premium lifestyle brand that serves the needs of entrepreneurs and leaders that DRIVE THE WORLD FORWARD! Before, founding Rockridge, Randy spent over 15 years as a branding and marketing expert across a variety of industries. He lives in Beautiful Berkeley. Ca with his family and is committed to using entrepreneurship to positively impact Oakland. Lauren Desteno - Lake Merritt Autumn Lights Creator+++ Lauren DeSteno is an award-winning multidisciplinary artist working in community and public spaces. Her art can be found at Burning Man, on billboards above Sao Paulo and across the frozen lakes of Minnesota. Her ongoing community dreaming project, Luminous Moumena, will be shown at the 10th Annual Autumn Lights Festival, a fundraiser for the Gardens at Lake Merritt, October 14th - 16th, 2021. Ethiopian food served by our nearby restaurant Enssaro located on Grand Avenue. Solomon Tamirue will be catering tasty meat, veggie and vegan dishes. Beer + Wine! A few more highlights to Read before WE Meet: 5:30 start: my new home isn't the point of why I'm busying a portion of my life to build Transforming Oakland; but if you want to view safely my new spot ... let's do so as we conclude at about 7. Small groups will be briefly welcomed into my unit (Covid Safe). 6PM: Our Oakland/Bay Area Makers begin Sharing! Once OUR AMAZING Makers have Mesmerized US ... Mingle ...
