In honor of Hispanic Heritage month The Georgia Latino Film Alliance celebrates its 10th Annual Georgia Latino Film Festival to make sure that our communities through their films continue to tell their stories in the Hollywood of the South and that we have a place where Latino film makers, executives and artists at the forefront of the Latino Film industry can come together, to discuss the future of Latino Film Makers, Writers, and Directors. Now in our 10th year the GALIFF has become one of the “fastest growing film festivals in the country –GALIFF is 4 inspiring days filled with premieres, workshops, panels, VIP parties, and awards showcasing the top storytellers and film makers from around the world. Our Opening Night Premieres will be held September 30th at The Grand Ivy Point Ball located at 302 Satellite Blvd NE STE 104, Suwanee, GA 30024 at 6:30pm. Speakers Include Special messages from John Leguizamo, actor, director, and Congessman Tony Cardenas Julia Ann Crommett , Chairwoman Georgia Latino FIlm AllianceYvette Moise , President and Co Founder, Georgia Latino Film Alliance More to be announcedPremiering 2 movies Short film: Sombras Directed by Director Marc Sanchez, Run Time 10:00Rumba Love Directed by Guillermo Ivan Duenas Run Time 1:42:00 Nicholas Quevedo, a Cuban-American rumba singer moves from Havana to New York with nothing else but his love for rumba and his unbreakable dream to make it in the Big Apple, but his journey would be confronted by unimaginable challenges.We hope this is the place where careers will be born and a whole new community is empowered and we gain a better understanding and experience our rich culture through film. Purpose The purpose of the Georgia Latino Film Festival is to conduct an Annual Film Festival celebrated in the state of Georgia that features Latino directed, produced and acted films among other national and international entries. Through this Film festival we will showcase latino talent in Georgia and educate and empower the next generation of latino storytellers. Mission The mission of the Georgia Latino Film Alliance is to build awareness of independent films and film as an art form; provide educational opportunities for students and Georgia Latino filmmakers; and create opportunities for the Georgia communities to experience high-quality Latino films. Vision To make sure that our stories are being told in Hollywood and around the world, that our community has a place in Georgia where Latino film executives directors and artists at the forefront of the Latino Film and animation industry can come together to discuss the future of our industry and create a vehicle to develop the next generation of Georgia Latino film-makers. Organization The Georgia Latino Film Festival is a 501(c) non-profit under the direction of Latinos in Information Sciences and Technology Association Inc. (LISTA). Latinos in Information Sciences and Technology Association Inc. (LISTA) is a certified 501(c)(3) non-profit providing institutions, organizations, events and corporations with technology and cultural enrichment services. These services include presentations, workshops, lectures, film festivals and more. The Georgia Latino Film Festival operate in Norcross Ga. Located just minutes from Stone Mountain and Old Historic Norcross., Norcross is a small town known for it’s arts centers, restaurants and easy access to area attractions, trails, restaurants, shopping and scenic byways. The Georgia Film and TV Office, a component of the Georgia’s Department of Economic Development, is an annual supporter of the event and is sponsor of the festival and it’s activities.
