Here are the top stories today in and around Burlington: An unidentified Vermont couple is suing Disney Cruise Lines for $20 million, claiming their 3-year-old daughter was sexually assaulted by an older child. According to court documents, the parents allege the incident happened while on a cruise aboard the Disney Fantasy. The parents report that their daughter was "physically restrained" and wasn't able to escape from being assaulted. They also claim Disney staff came into the room, but "failed to recognize the sexual assault" and instead "allowed the ongoing abuse." The complaints list five counts of negligence against the cruise line. (WCAX)Over 100 people showed up at Battery Park on Friday afternoon to fight climate change and raise awareness of the Line 3 Pipeline in Minnesota. According to a project permit, the pipeline would be used to carry heavy crude oil from Alberta, Canada to Superior, Wisconsin. Climate change activists reaching as far as Vermont have expressed concerns about the environmental impact of the 330-mile oil pipe. (WCAX)The Burlington Ordinance Committee reviewed two controversial proposals to refer to the full council: one would decriminalize sex workers, while the other would set new rules for short-term rental units.
