Description

We have several adorable baby guinea pigs looking for a wonderful home! Some are now 5+ weeks of age, fully weaned from mom and ready to leave us and their piggy family and meet you, and if you like them, go home with you and be your best little fluffy, furry and sweetly talkative friend/s for many years to come! Other younger ones will follow shortly. They eat different kinds of hay, pellets, LOTS of veggies, greens and some fruits from our organic garden, kitchen and nature (and of course they will go home with a baggy of the feed they are on right now, so you can transition slowly to the kind of feed you will be feeding). All piggies love to chew on branches, especially from fruit trees, so at any pruning time keep them in mind, before all goes to the shredder! And cut-up blackberry vines are loved and very beneficial to guinea pigs (and many other animals) of all ages and breeds too! Don't worry about the thorns, they can do it nicely! No thorn-remover around in Mother Nature, right?! Our little ones drink fresh water from a bowl as well as a water bottle and are able to work out all different styles! I add a few drops of apple cider vinegar to keep it fresh and healthy. In temperament they are very entertaining, outgoing and explorative, calm and friendly, trusting yet curious, no nipping, scratching or biting. They love to be engaged in conversations, with each other or their human family and really benefit from not being a solo piggy, but living and sharing all with at least a best ever piggy friend. So, if you have none yet at home, please consider to go with at least a pair! Or if you have a little bunny at home, a piggy could be socialized that way, bunnies, rabbits and guinea piggies get along really very well! Our guinea pigs love to be held, petted, carried around and are great even with very small kids. Under supervision of course, if the kids are still very little! We all have to learn, but that's the beauty of life, right?! Guinea pigs are wonderful for 4H, a classroom setting (after covid....), but also just as a best ever little furry, chatty, entertaining, educating and gentle buddy for children or a family. You can't go wrong! Regarding the adoption fee: As in the past we do not have a firm amount for our little ones, but instead are collecting donations for causes dear to our families hearts: two orphanages in Arequipa and Cusco, Peru (where my husband is from and in addition to those orphanages we support four little Waldorf Schools: the first is located in Andahuaylillas in the Peruvian Andes. You can find information about that project under "Projecto Social Q'ewar", an organization of moms crafting beautiful Waldorf-style dolls and animals to support their children's education. The second School is called "Kusi Kawsay", located in Pisac, a magical and ancient village/city 40 minutes away from Cusco at the majestic entrance to the Sacred Valley. "Escuela Caracol" is our third little school, the first and only little Waldorf School in Guatemala. With lots of help 100+ kids, of whom most are of mayan decent, are able to get an education as well as two good, warm meals each day! And then there is the last: a little Waldorf School in 'El Bolson', Patagonia. Please decide and discuss with your family what you are able and willing to give, every ones situation and moment in life is different and that's why we prefer to do it that way! ALL is so needed, ALL is very much appreciated, ALL will be MATCHED IN FULL by our family and then put to very good use! We hope you like our little one (and causes!) as much as we do! Stay safe and healthy and have a very colorful and magical autumn and a good rest of 2021, maybe with a new sweet, happy and soft as can be addition to your family and life! This could be a wonderful time to deeply engage with your new little baby guinea pig friend! And yes: piggies 'brown gold' is GREAT for your garden!!!! It does not burn hot and so can be put to good use directly and right away! If you think those darling little guys are just what you are looking for, we are very happy to hear from you! We are flexible on times and days, weekends or during the week, and, if you live on the other side of the sound: a ferry ride to Seattle can always be arranged, two of our daughters live and work there! We also on and off visit our son studying at OHSU in Portland and then can easily give a bunny a ride your way! And another son is at Western in Bellingham..... And yes, we can transfer our babies when we meet in a very safe manner!!!! Thanks for reading and considering! Erika and Family! Please either call or email, no texts, only an old fashioned landline, no cell! ANY question you might have will be answered to our best knowledge! Gladly!
