CONCORD, NH — Five people were arrested and two taken into protective custody due to alcohol consumption during a DWI Saturation Patrol in the Greater Concord area during the Sept. 25 weekend.
Staff Sgt. Daniel Baldassarre of Troop D said four people were arrested for drunken driving: Daniel Savino, 59, of Scotland, Connecticut, was arrested on aggravated driving under the influence, driving under the influence, and an open container charge; David McClellan, 49, of Concord was arrested on a driving under the influence charge; Joseph Desrochers, 23, of Warner was arrested on a driving under the influence charge; and a 17-year-old from Northfield was arrested on driving under the influence, open container, minor transporting alcohol, and a minor in possession of alcohol charges.
A man from New London and a man from Andover were taken into protective custody.
Also charged was Abimael Vargas, 33, of Lebanon on a driving without a valid license charge.
"The New Hampshire State Police has taken an aggressive stance to prevent persons from driving when impaired," Baldassarre said. "New Hampshire has some of the most aggressive laws in the country to fight impaired driving and the law enforcement community will use those tools to their fullest extent to make sure our citizens and visitors are safe when operating their vehicles on our roadways."
