Description
I'm a vocalist in my 40s looking to play with a band again or even find some collaborators to hit some open mics with. I sung with a band in the Boston area for a number of years. Our musical jumping off point was accordion-driven dance music from a variety of places, and it morphed into a unique sound. We were influenced by zydeco and cajun music, forro from Brazil, reggae, blues, rock, and more.
I play a little bit of accordion (I called myself "rhythm accordion" to my bandmate's stellar "lead accordion"), hand percussion, ukelele, and I'm slowly learning bass... I love harmonies and merging different kinds of sounds together.
I'm interested in all sorts of music. In addition to English, I can sing in Spanish and Portuguese (I speak a little of those conversationally, but I'm not fluent). Realistically I could practice once a week or a few times a month. Would love to play out once in awhile. Covers are cool, originals are cool. I'm hoping to connect with some like-minded people and make some music again.
I've got a few samples to direct you to, if you are interested in hearing more.
