2.5 year old female Serbian import. We originally bought her to add to our breeding program, but after losing a couple of pups we did a full DNA profile and discovered she is a carrier for cardiomyopathy with juvenile mortality (CJM). It does not affect her health, but is not something we want in our program. Astrid is bred for French Ring, but has lived on our ranch for the last 2 years. She has an intense prey/hunt drive and solid obedience drive. When she arrived, she was well started on bitework, but we actively discourage that behavior at home. She would likely take well to it again, but has not been shaped toward protection work. Once bonded she will be naturally protective of her home and family, but it might take a fair amount of work to get her ready for any sort of protection sport competition. She is social and good with kids. She lives with other adult dogs and is good with them, but definitely dominant. She has no problem rolling the other females, although it rarely escalates into a real dog fight. She should not be trusted with small dogs or cats (especially the cats...we have tried introducing them on multiple occasions, and they are just too much fun to hunt). She has learned to leave the chickens alone, mostly leaves the horses and pigs alone and is good with the cattle (ours don't run from a dog). I know better than to even introduce her to sheep or goats. She is collar smart and knows when she is wearing an e-collar and when she is not. Like all Malinois, a 6' fence is no problem, so she should not be left unsupervised until she is well bonded to her new home and knows the boundaries. She is good in her kennel, travels well and is house trained (with supervision). Astrid is not free, but she is offered for a fraction of what we have invested in her. We are open to spaying her prior to placement, or refunding her sterilization once it is complete. She is both FCI/AKC registered and microchipped. She has a 3-year rabies certificate, is de-wormed regularly, and will go to her new home with a fresh distemper/parvo/canine flu booster. We are not in a hurry to place her, and will only respond to those who provide some information about their home/family/lifestyle.
