Description

3 CEU credits (Category 1)-Productive and Problematic Self-Disclosure within the Context of Clinical Relationships Therapist self-disclosure is viewed by many as a controversial topic within the mental health field. The decision to disclose or not to disclose can be a source of division among practitioners. In deciding whether or not to utilize self-disclosure, therapists need to consider various factors to understand if, when, and how it can be implemented as a useful intervention. In this workshop, we will explore the role of self-disclosure within the context of clinical relationships. Participants will be challenged to explore their motivations and hesitations for practicing disclosure to further inform their future work with clients.
