Description

The 4th Annual Colorado Record Sealing Event will take place in-person on Saturday, Oct. 2nd 2021 from 11 AM to 4 PM in Aurora, CO. National Expungement Works' signature event is a week of events across the U.S. that offers expungement and other forms of legal relief for free to some of the 77 million Americans with convictions on their records. These convictions can restrict access to housing, employment, education, voting and public assistance long after sentences have been served. In Colorado, we call this record sealing, and it can help restore access to housing, employment, education, public assistance, and voting rights. The 4th Annual Colorado Record Sealing Event will take place in-person on Saturday, Oct. 2nd from 11 AM to 4 PM at Second Chance Center in Aurora, CO. The volunteer-led event hosted by Expunge Colorado in partnership with Interfaith Alliance and Second Chance Center will offer free legal support for record sealing. Volunteer legal advisors will help answer questions and determine eligibility for record-sealing. Additional services such as resume building will also be offered to this community. This service is FREE in-person event and open to the public. Masks are required and will be provided. This is an entire volunteer-led effort. Please RSVP so we can plan accordingly for food and volunteers. IMPORTANT: Once you RSVP for this event, you will receive an additional email prior to the event on Oct. 2nd. The email will include a link to a Screener form that will help save time with checking in for the event. This emailed link will take you to a form to provide necessary information such as your DOB, mailing address and case number, etc. Your privacy matters to us and will be respected. *Should you not complete the Screener prior to the event, you will have the opportunity to do this in-person when you arrive on Oct. 2nd.* *CALL TO ACTION* We are calling on our local community and Colorado businesses to help support these services and support our charge for social justice. We could not do this work without the help of others that support and prioritize social justice issues.
