The Central Indiana CPCU Society Chapter presents The Annual All Industry Day & Conferment Luncheon CENTRAL INDIANA CPCU SOCIETY CHAPTERpresents THE ANNUAL ALL INDUSTRY DAY AND CONFERMENT LUNCHEONSponsored by the Central Indiana CPCU Society Chapter, All Industry Day provides an educational forum for the insurance industry. All members of the insurance community as well as other interested parties are invited to attend. Please join us for the luncheon honoring the 2020 and 2021 New Designees of the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation. New Designees plus one guest receive a FREE luncheon. He was drafted by the San Diego Chargers and also played for the Bills, Chiefs, Colts, Packers, and Cardinals. Highlights include playing in 3 AFC Championship games and 2 Super Bowls (XXV and XXVI with Buffalo). After a 7 year NFL career, he settled in Brownsburg, Indiana, with his wife of 29 years and two sons where he stays active in Christian causes and a radio/television career that has spanned 27 years. Mike Wells joined ESPN in August 2013 as the Indianapolis Colts’ NFL Nation reporter. While his main duties are writing for ESPN.com, he has also appeared on ESPN’s SportsCenter, NFL Live and contributed to ESPN The Magazine. Wells also contributes to ESPN.com’s NBA coverage and is a full-in host on ESPN’s national radio. In addition to his ESPN duties, Wells is an adjunct professor at Indiana University in Bloomington. The goal of this session is to help agents better understand the risk management process and its application during the midst of an active crisis, as well the insurability of, and risk management options for catastrophic loss exposures. The session will include an introduction of risk management, exposure identification, and varying risk management techniques, then will explore Enterprise Risk Management and the impact of COVID-19 on insurance and risk management programs as well as current legislative efforts in Congress (PRIA), concluding with supply-chain risk management, the impact of loss events and various techniques for mitigating supply-chain exposures. Presenter: Zach Finn, AINS, ARM, MSM, Director of Risk Management, Henriott Group, Inc. Zach serves as Henriott Group, Inc.'s Director of Risk Management and is responsible for client education, industry, vertical risk management solutions, and client engagement. His goal is to make sophisticated risk management solutions more accessible and mainstream. From 2011-2021, he served as a Clinical Professor and the Academic Director of the Davey Risk Management & Insurance (RMI) Program at Butler University. Zach helped found, and ran, what is now the 9th largest undergraduate RMI program in the U.S. He was also the co-inventor, co-founder, CRO and COO for the world’s first Student-Run Captive Insurance Company, domiciled in Bermuda, and taught at Butler University. A first of its kind innovation in experiential learning. He also ran a successful risk management consulting company during his time at Butler and helped advise the U.S. Congress on the creation of model Pandemic Risk Insurance Act legislation to help mitigate the impact to insurance markets from COVID-19.” Prior to Butler University, Zach was Risk Manager for The J.M. Smucker Company in Orrville, Ohio, where he managed the Corporation’s risk management program, including global insurance program design and placement, successfully settling several large claims (largest $17M+) and overseeing insurance due diligence and integration for nine major mergers and acquisitions, including the $3.3 billion acquisition of Folgers Coffee. He received his B.S. in insurance and risk management from Indiana State University, M.S. in risk management and insurance from Florida State University, and the Associate in General Insurance (AINS) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM) professional designations from the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters. 2 hours of Continuing Education credit have been applied for with the Indiana Department of Insurance Afternoon Seminar 1:45 p.m. – 3:45 p.m.Using Storytelling to Advance Your Business In this session you’ll gain an understanding of the benefits and impact of storytelling in reaching clients and connecting with them in a more personal way, leading to greater fulfillment and success in your business. The objectives of the session include: • Understanding why storytelling is effective to influence client behavior, • Realizing that stories are more memorable than statistics and facts, • Discovering barriers to action-producing communication, and how to overcome them, • Learning and utilizing an effective “elevator story” format, • Producing at least one good story you can share to win over clients, and • Learning basic tips to effectively share stories with your clients. Presenter: Jeffrey Owens, CPCU, AIM, AIT, API, ARe, CPRIA, Senior Underwriting Manager, Cincinnati Financial Corporation Jeff Owens graduated from the University of Illinois in 1990 with a degree in Secondary Education/Teaching of Mathematics. Jeff has been with the Cincinnati Insurance Company for 25 years, currently providing leadership for the audit, training, and expense operations for his department. He has prior underwriting experience and has acted as a facilitator for the company’s Personal Lines Sales Schools, Customer Service Representative seminars, and High Net Worth Producer Schools. He has received the prestigious ABC (Above and Beyond the Call) Award for his service to the company, as well as numerous insurance designations. Beyond Cincinnati Insurance, Jeff is a certified trainer for Dale Carnegie Training and enjoys watching participants reach their desired visions and goals through their actions and experiences.
