A family-friendly, interactive poster tour and a related art-making experience!
Movie posters are beloved by collectors. Join us for an interactive tour of the current exhibition You Won’t Bleed Me: How Blaxploitation Posters Defined Cool & Delivered Profits to learn how poster designers portrayed the heroic, strong, and cool Black characters of 1970s Blaxploitation cinema. Then—just in time for Halloween—participate in a workshop where we will design costumes for the many characters we play in our own lives.
This program invites children 5-11 years old and their adults to collaborate (siblings are welcome!). This is not a drop-off program.
Not ready to join us in person? Sign up to participate virtually from 9:15-10:15am here.
Poster House is America's first museum dedicated to presenting the impact, culture, and design of posters, both as historical documents and methods of contemporary visual communication. Through temporary exhibitions, a growing permanent collection, educational events, and publications, Poster House explores the enormous impact of posters on society and culture, and how they continue to influence human behavior in the 21st Century.
