Description
I have this Pitbull/American Bulldog. He is a male, about 7 years old, weighs around 60-65lbs, and is considered a blue nose. We've had him since he was about 6 weeks old. It seems as though because he's getting older, he's getting more aggressive. I'm using this as a last resort to see if he can go to a home that's familiar with his breed and can help him behave better. He has growled and shown his teeth to me and my 2 daughters. And just a week ago, he bit my husband on his leg when my husband and I were playing around wrestling (honest, PG rated type of play). He wants him gone and I fear that he will bite my daughters or myself one day. He does have lumps and I haven't had them tested. He is prone to ear and skin infections. We've taken care of the skin infection with a special shampoo but his ear infections keep coming back. He is up-to-date on his rabies shot. He is generally a good boy but has been getting more aggressive with us and some family friends. He did previously bite (according to them) 2 maintenance men. In fact, we had to move out of one apartment when a man said he was bit by our dog. Thankfully, at this place, the maintenance said the same (that our dog bit him) but didn't force us to move out like our previous home did. So he does have a history and thankfully we've been able to protect him from being put to sleep or anything like that. But I don't want to wait until he actually does hurt someone else and would need to be taken away.
If I cannot find someone to try and work with him, then we will have to go ahead and make the hard decision of putting him to sleep before he bites someone else. Please do not judge or criticize us. We tried our best and we no longer feel safe around him enough to keep him with us for much longer. Small rehoming fee ONLY because I don't want him to become bait for anything. Rude or mean emails will be ignored. Pictures will be shared by request. Thank you.
