DED has a significant impact on patient employment and other activities. Although some risk factors, such as smoking and excessive screen time, are well known, numerous additional risk factors and associations with comorbidities are now considered. While traditional therapies for DED may be helpful, the need for more effective treatments remains. New treatments for DED, with novel mechanisms of action, have become available. In this CME activity, experts in the field will explore the mechanisms of action for conventional versus novel therapies as well the efficacy and safety of new therapies for their ability to treat both the signs and symptoms of DED. This program will include the unique, audience-driven, educational platform Case Choice, where learners select 1 of 2 cases in a pair for discussion.
