Description

New, transformative, youth justice initiative being introduced in West Orlando. Join March for Our Lives Pine Hills, the Credible Messengers of the South, Las Semillas, and the Florida Student Power Network for the Youth Justice Forum, a local youth justice initiative based upon community building as community organizers hold discussions to re-imagine solutions for issues affecting the youth by providing education on how it affects Black and other communities of color and solutions based on the Resurrection Group’s model of community-based growth to prevent poverty and thus, violence. In the forum, the community will be informed on alternatives to the criminal justice system, as seen through teaching citizens to become youth justice advocates and mentors, raising money for community programs in and out of schools, and teaching children about self-determination via financial literacy, artistic expression, and civic engagement.
