Our client is one of the largest Wine & Spirits distributors in the State of California. They are seeking a merchandiser to work from now through the end of the year merchandising their products in the two Total Wine stores located in San Jose and in Fremont, CA; along with a few other major grocery store locations such as Safeway and Nob Hill. This position will be a Temporary Full-time job (40-hours a week) through December 31, 2021. Several of our top performing Temps have been offered full time employment by our client after their first 90 days with the company! Primary job responsibilities include restocking store shelves, building small displays, organizing and general servicing of our client’s brands within each store. Full training will be provided. It is not necessary to have any in depth knowledge of wine or spirits in order to do this job. Compensation: $18.50 per hour plus mileage reimbursement at.56 a mile. Merchandisers are paid each Friday for all hours worked and miles driven the previous week. Payment methods include the Merchandiser’s choice of a direct deposit or payroll debit card. Merchandisers are paid as employees. Applicable payroll taxes will be deducted from each paycheck. Schedule: 5 Days a week, 8 hours per day with split days off. Merchandisers work Monday through Saturday with every Sunday and the employee’s choice of every Thursday or Friday off. Start time is typically 8 AM but occasionally may be an hour earlier or later. Dress requirements: In this role, you are viewed as a Sales Representative of our client. Sales Reps are expected to be neat, clean and well-groomed with dark pants, dark shoes and a collared shirt or blouse. Black or dark jeans, Polo shirts and dark athletic shoes are all acceptable. For safety reasons, open toed shoes are not allowed. Desired Background/Skills: • Minimum high school diploma or GED • Resides within a 25-mile radius of locations listed in this posting • Must possess a valid Driver’s License • Reliable personal transportation is required (mileage reimbursed at.56 a mile grossed up) • Must be 21 years of age or older • Neat, clean and professional appearance • Dependable with integrity and a high level of attention to details • Ability to work under minimum supervision to merchandise products and service retail accounts Physical Requirements: Repetitive bending, kneeling, stooping and occasionally climbing (stairs or ladders) is required. Candidates must be capable of lifting cases of beer, wine or spirits (which can weigh up to 40 pounds each) multiple times per day.
