Hungry-job doesn't start until next week-any churches/organizations op

Is there a church or any way to get food and/or emergency gas money on the weekend? My family and I were told our place would be ready a few days ago, but now it will be Wednesday, and I start work on Tuesday. Unfortunately we have nothing until then and I've been calling everywhere but it's all voicemails and answering machines since it's Tuesday. I'm not looking for a handout, and I have a job lined up, but we're hungry and I don't know what else to do.
