Description
I have hyperthyroidism. A Thyroid is a gland toward the base of your neck that controls hormones, metabolism, and a bunch of necessary functions. Hyperthyroidism makes it overactive. It's also enlarged to the point they call it a goiter. The average length for an adult is about 5cm (2 inches), mine is much larger.
Personally, this causes weight fluctuations, weird heart rates 38-140bpm, exhaustion, discomfort mood changes, and more.
I need a biopsy and Dr appointments and bloodwork, etc.. I can't afford it. I will need to take time off work to get it done too.
The closest place (2.5 hours away) that will take my insurance is booked until next year. It's getting worse and probably shouldn't wait until then. After all that, then I'll need treatment, like a thyroidectomy or radioactive iodine.
Anyone want to donate to the cause?
