Hosted by the ASNWNY Professional Development & Capacity Building Committee SCHEDULE AS FOLLOWS: • 8:00-8:30AM: Registration & Refreshments • 8:30-9:00AM: Opening Drum Circle (Drums Provided!) • 9:00-10:15AM: Session Breakouts #1 • 10:15-10:30AM: BREAK • 10:30-11:45AM: Session Breakouts #2 • 11:45-12:00PM: Networking & Closing Grace Myers-Belote: “Finding Your Calm in the Chaos”: This session will be focused on workable solutions for creating a safe work culture and climate. To be highlighted will be some calming breathwork techniques, moving into self-soothing strategies and finishing up with a body scan and grounding meditation. This will be followed by a debrief of the session on how to put this into practice on a daily basis personally or professionally. Jehrin Calhoun: “Employing Self-Care in the Workplace”: Participants will learn how to intentionally have a positive impact on their work environment while employing self-care. They will receive ways to apply their professional assets and gain knowledge on the practical use of language to maintain effective leadership that fosters a productive environment. Mission To be the regional resource, venue, and voice for afterschool and expanded learning systems-building in the region while communicating to local, state, and federal stakeholders about the benefits of out-of-school time enrichment opportunities. About ASNWNY The After School Network of Western New York serves as an intersection point for after-school and out-of-school time stakeholders in Erie County. The network engages in systems-level work around policy, partnerships, and quality assurance to create conditions for programs to operate effectively and meet the diverse needs of young people in the region in out-of-school time settings. ASNWNY brings together program staff and community leaders to advance a vision of quality out-of-school programming for all students in the region. ASNWNY meets quarterly and operates several standing committees: (1) Steering, (2) Advocacy, (3) Buffalo Providers Working Group, and (4) Professional Development & Capacity Building. All out-of-school time stakeholders are welcome to join the network and affiliated subcommittees.
