On the morning of September 11, 2001, Lt. Col. Ryan Yantis was working as a public affairs officer at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. In New York City, Donald Bacso, a Dyer resident who grew up in Northwest Indiana, was in the North Tower of the World Trade Center. They were there on that fateful morning that would forever change their lives and the nation.
