Description

PLEASE LEAVE NUMBER IN EMAIL OR NO RESPONSE WILL BE GIVEN. Gorgeous 8 year old Japanese akita looking for a new home. She is full of energy when you want to play but will also sleep hours on end if that's your current mood. She really has a good way of mirroring your vibe. Very hearty and have never had any issues (zero emergency/unplanned vet visits or injuries since birth). Never misses a meal and does her business like clockwork. Very playful and great with guests (once properly introduced). Will also be the first to engage/submit on all fours whenever she sees another doggo in the distance. Super friendly. She's also super behaved for being a spitz breed. Very quiet and rarely barks. Likes to lead walks but will never pull or drag you around like the stereotypes (easy once you learn the proper habits). Can chill at home by herself for hours without separation anxiety. Reason for rehoming? This was my ex's dog and we're no longer together. As much as I adore her, I'm not a huge dog person and think I'm in over my head. Case in point, she has an itch on her head and I've been trying to give her the proper medication but I've been unsuccessful at it. I put the cone on her to prevent scratching but being the smarty that she is, she shucks it off at night and continues to scratch. I'll likely bring her to the vet but this just showed me that maybe I'm not well equipped to be a doggo dad yet. Looking for experienced dog parent(s) that will take great care of her (one of the conditions will be to send pics frequently so I can still see her). She's a great dog but she deserves better than a clueless dad like myself. Can't express how much I care for her and need to know that she'll be in good hands. Would love to connect and get to know you over the phone/text first (or distanced coffee) to see if this is a match for my fat log. P.S. I'm such a clueless dad that I'm not even sure how much she weighs (35 pounds maybe?) but she's a thorough bred japanese akita and has reached her full size vs american akitas that tend to be huge
