ROCKVILLE, MD — A new restaurant opening in Rockville Town Square this winter will offer up a menu of dishes from Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Brazil and Ecuador. Kumbia serves primarily South American food alongside a menu of cocktails. "We are excited to bring a unique Latin offering, to include exciting cocktails, beloved dishes and live music inspired by the variety of cuisines that represent South American food culture," said Steven Tobar, co-owner of Kumbia, in a news release. "We look forward to joining the diverse collection of restaurants that make the neighborhood a great community dining destination." The restaurant will open at 100 B Gibbs Street, next to First Watch and Truist Bank, and will have a variety of nighttime entertainment. "We look forward to welcoming Kumbia to Rockville Town Square, to complement the now open Plaza Oaxaca, and the soon to open Thai Chef and Half Smoke, to name just a few," said Mickey Papillon, Vice President at Federal Realty, in a news release. "These new restaurants, alongside longtime Rockville favorites, make for a compelling and unique dining scene for the greater Rockville and Montgomery County community."
