Description
My daughter and her husband visited the animal shelter at the end of 2019. I do not think that they went there with the intent of getting a big dog but when they met this big guy he melted into their arms and they just couldn't leave without him. They named him Butter-Nut Squash. They were told that he had already been in 3 homes and that he was somewhere between 2 and 4 years old. He is 70 lbs of golden retriever goof ball. But unfortunately, their plans of moving into a bigger house with a yard didn't happen and their tiny house with a itty bitty yard in town just is not fair to him. He is great with other dogs of all sizes but doesn't need a home with one to be happy either. He is weirdly obsessed with cats, not aggressive, but can stare at them for hours. And he is also good with children. He needs a home where he can run and play, or people who enjoy walks and hikes. He loves playing ball and his squeaky toys. He would do best in an active home where someone is around to give him attention. He is a fantastic dog but requires more than they can offer him.
Finding the right home is more important than just finding him a home. If you think that you would be a perfect fit for Butter, we would love to chat with you and meet up for a visit. There is no hurry or pressure in finding him a place that will be right for him. He doesn't need another family to fall in love with him but not be able to provide what he needs in return. Help me find Butter his FOREVER home
