HOBOKEN, NJ — Will the return of the Smithereens and Marshall Crenshaw to the Hoboken Art and Music Festival mean we're closer to a return to normalcy? Perhaps.
The Smithereens posted on Facebook on Sunday that they can't wait to come back to Hoboken on Oct. 3.
They last performed together at the fall Hoboken Art And Music Festival in September of 2018.
The Smithereens, formed in 1980 in Carteret, N.J., released a series of popular rock songs including "Blood and Roses," "A Girl Like You," "Only a Memory," "Too Much Passion," and "Behind the Wall of Sleep."
Former lead singer Pat DiNizio passed away in 2017.
Crenshaw had a rock hit in 1982 with the song "Someday, Someway."
The festival takes place on seven blocks of Hoboken's Washington Street each fall and spring.
This year's fest will run on Oct. 3 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with art for sale, food, crafts, children's entertainers, and three stages for musicians including Freedy Johnson, the Karen Kuhl Band, and more.
