WARREN COUNTY, NJ — The Federal Emergency Management Agency has announced the opening of a Disaster Recovery Center this coming Saturday. FEMA's Disaster Recovery Center to help New Jersey residents who suffered challenges from the remnants of Ida is scheduled to open on Sept. 25 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Franklin Township Municipal Building, located at 2093 Route 57 in Broadway. According to a news release from FEMA on Friday, this Disaster Recovery Center or DRC is planned to be open Mondays through Fridays, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., as well as on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. "Individuals in Bergen, Essex, Gloucester, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Union, and Warren counties are eligible to apply for disaster assistance," FEMA wrote. In addition to representatives from FEMA, there will be U.S. Small Business Administration reps in the centers to assist with questions related to business programs. While at the DRCs, people are required to wear a face mask and hand sanitizer will be available. Work stations at the sites will be socially-distanced six feet apart, with the facility regularly sanitized in the common areas and workstations. For information on DRC locations throughout New Jersey, visit www.fema.gov/drc. FEMA suggests that homeowners or tenants file a claim as quickly as possible with their homeowners' or tenants' insurance company, if they have not already, with FEMA potentially able to assist those who are "uninsured or underinsured." To apply, go to www.disasterassistance.gov or call 800-621-3362. Questions or comments about this story? Have a news tip? Contact me at: [email protected].
