WEST MIFFLIN, PA — Santa had to take last year off from his customary Kennywood visit due to the pandemic, but he'll be back this year. The amusement park announced Friday that the popular Holiday Lights attraction will return this year for its 10th anniversary season. Holiday Lights begins on Nov. 20 and will add 24 days to Kennywood's 2021 operating calendar. A special preview for season pass holders will occur on Nov. 19. Holiday lights then will be held Fridays through Sundays through Christmas Eve, plus nightly from Dec. 26 through Jan. 2. Kennywood is adding an extra hour to the festivities each night this year. The Parkside Cafe will offer a traditional holiday feast and specialty hot chocolate. The park's culinary team also is developing new food offerings for the event. Holiday Lights will feature more than one million lights and the tallest Christmas tree in the state of Pennsylvania. Fan-favorite activities such as Dinner with Santa, light shows around the Lagoon, and musical performances will return. Also, Thomas Town, Kiddieland, and other family friendly attractions will be open. Be the first to know what's happening in your community and region.
