Personal Assistant for Older Mother

My mother is in her early 70s, and is currently going through severe depression (haven't found the right med yet), plus a concussion caused by some idiot rear-ending her at a stop light. She lives alone, and has already been extremely isolated due to the pandemic. I'm looking for someone to help make her life better and more stress-free in multiple ways! Helping her with basic life things, and around the house. This includes laundry and dishes, some grocery shopping and meal prep, etc. Improving her social life! Constantly looking up Asheville events, taking her to events that seem fun, and especially getting her to go to events where she's likely to meet new friends. Making sure she's staying healthy. Mostly this means eating and drinking, and going with her to get some exercise, either at a gym, or playing tennis, or for outdoor walks. Being her friend. She's going through a very hard time right now, so you should be good at talking to someone about what they're going through, and making them feel heard and cared for. The challenges of technology! She always has some headache or another about her computer or her phone, so you should be comfortable with Windows and with Android phones, or you should be able to become comfortable with these things quickly. Appointment booking, health task management, and health care research. This is extremely important. I need to be able to say something to you like "find her a good neurologist that she can see fairly quickly", and then get good results. To do the above things well, you should have reliable transportation, reliable cell signal where you live (emergencies happen), a kind and happy disposition, and lots of patience! Bonus points if you have experience working with the depressed and anxious, and/or the elderly -- or if you have an advanced degree, or a degree in a STEM field, or otherwise are really good at online research for health conditions. The job is for 20-40 hrs per week. The amount will depend on the week, but also on your schedule, so anyone looking for halftime-only or fulltime-only is encouraged to apply.
