CANOGA PARK, CA — A homeless man is in custody today after allegedly firing shots into a Canoga Park restaurant after workers asked him to leave Thursday afternoon. According to police, there were 20 people including a 10-year-old inside the Topanga Canyon Boulevard Shake Shack when the man opened fire. A short time later, Los Angeles Police arrested Sebastiano Cummings-Cruz, 25, near the scene. He was booked on suspicion of "attempted murder with enhancements," and was held on $2.15 million bail, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Cummings-Cruz, a transient known to frequent the Canoga Park area, entered the Shake Shack in the 6600 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard, near Vanowen Street, shortly after noon Thursday. According to police, he cause a disturbance and was asked to leave. He walked outside and began shooting through the restaurant's storefront windows, causing the windows to shatter and sending patrons and employees diving for cover, investigators allege.
