Scaled-Back Doylestown Arts Festival Drew 'Incredible' Turnout

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Organizers were forced to downsize the 30th annual Doylestown Arts Festival earlier this month, but that did not stop the event from drawing huge crowds. About 12,000 people attended the arts festival Sept. 11-12 in downtown Doylestown, with the event receiving "support from every corner of the region," volunteer director Paul Boger said in a news release. Volunteers spent more than 10 months planning the free annual event, working to balance public health and the festival's mission to support the local arts and business communities. More than 150 volunteers worked "from before dawn until well after the crowds had gone home to make sure the event ran smoothly," organizers said. "We didn't know what to expect. We worked through the challenges and counted on everyone to do their part." "The turnout and support from every corner of the region was incredible to witness," he continued. "I'm very proud of what our team and community accomplished here." The 30th annual Doylestown Arts Festival was due to be held in 2020, but organizers transitioned the event to virtual spotlights due to the coronavirus pandemic. The arts festival made a triumphant return in 2021, but there were about 40 fewer vendors than in previous years. "The Doylestown Arts Festival served as a comeback for the community in a time of continued need," organizers said in the release. Planning has already begun for the 31st annual Doylestown Arts Festival, they said.
