ALAMEDA, CA — Cases are starting to come down from the summer surge. Alameda County's community transmission rate was recently lowered to the "substantial" level by the CDC, however, case rates for vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals remain in what was formerly considered the State's purple tier. Here's a quick look at the numbers from the City's online COVID-19 dashboard: 3,328 — Alameda's total number of COVID-19 cases to date from a population of about 80,000;39 — total number of COVID-19 cases in the Alameda Unified School District since school started from a population of about 9,600;96 — total number of Alameda residents who have died from COVID-19;93.6% — percentage of Alameda's population 12 and older who have received at least their first dose of the vaccine;81% — percentage of Alameda's population 12 and older who are fully vaccinated;11.7 — COVID-19 average daily cases per 100,000 in Alameda County.
