Press release from the Chamber of Commerce of Huntsville/Madison County: September 22, 2021 L to R: Dr. Wes Stubblefield, Jeff Samz Dr. Wes Stubblefield of the Alabama Department of Public Health and Huntsville Hospital CEO Jeff Samz joined us on Sept. 21 for an update on the current COVID-19 numbers and protocols. As of Tuesday, Madison County COVID numbers saw a decrease. The drop in in-patient cases had Samz optimistic. He discussed how we can keep these numbers going down, and was hopeful the trend would continue going downward as long as people continued to stay safe and vaccinate. Dr. Stubblefield previously spent his career in the pediatric field, and addressed concerns regarding children getting the vaccine. He said he strongly recommends the vaccine for children ages 12 and up, and talked about the importance of everyone in a doctor's office being on the same page about what they communicate to patients and families.
