Description
My philosophy is "Everything I ever needed to know about business I learned on the sports field." From Behind The Scoreboard, I feature the sports stories that tell us much more than simply who won or lost. These personal and inspiring experiences of grade school, high school, college, other amateur and even pro athletes allow all of us to reflect a little more on what is important in life. ~ James C. Ironman Achieves Goals At Special Olympics
Chris Nikic crossed the finish line in 16 hours 46 minutes nine seconds. He made history. Chris is the first person with Down syndrome to finish a full IRONMAN race.
From Maitland, Florida, Chris was 21 when he completed the Panama City Beach competition almost a year ago. But, the work and the triathlon was more than just athletics, a finish line and celebration of victory for Chris. According to his father, the challenge served as Chris’ platform to step closer to his goal of living a life of inclusion and leadership.
