Carpenter / Assembly Des Moines, IA Currently seeking a Carpenter for a vacant role in the Des Moines, IA area. The ideal candidate will possess 2+ years of recent carpentry / cabinetry experience. Responsibilities of the Carpenter / Assembly • Study blueprints or drawings of articles to be constructed or repaired, and plans sequence of cutting or shaping operations to be performed. • Set up and operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointer, mortiser, tenoner, molder, and shaper, to cut and shape parts from wood stock. • Trim component parts of joints to ensure snug fit, using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, or wood files. • Fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit. • Install hardware, such as hinges, catches, and drawer pulls. Requirements of the Carpenter / Assembly • Must have 2+ years recent carpentry / cabinetry experience required • Must be proficient with various tools including saws, drills and other hand / power tools • Must be able to read a tape measure to 1/16 inch – will be tested in interview • 50 pounds lifting on a frequent basis • Pre-employment E-Verify, drug screen, and background check • Own reliable transportation to the South side of Des Moines, IA • Must have the ability to read blue prints • Must have a pair of steel toe boots Compensation of the Carpenter / Assembly • Pay rate Pay: $18.00/hour
