Household Help Needed for Semi-Independent Elderly Women Hello! We are looking for general all around household help for my 70 y/o mother who is living independently in a condo complex. In the past, we could only find help in one or two specific areas, and we are really looking for someone who can help in a general way as well, instead of just with only a couple of things (for instance, only cleaning, etc…). My mother has a deep cleaner come every other week who mops, deep cleans sinks, bathrooms, etc…so such deep cleaning will not be required. This means at least one, 3-4 hour shift per week, but could go up to 2-3 days/week depending on your availability and what my mom needs help with. Weekly responsibilities would include: - Surface cleaning, dishes, picking up, tidying, general organizing of my moms things, vacuuming. - Dusting - Sweeping back yard, patio and front porch. - Organizing, picking up, and tidying backyard. - Weekly clothes laundry, including folding and putting away. Additionally, my mother needs help with a number of items on an as needed basis. We will of course pay for the additional time. Such items might include: - Changing air filters - Walking dogs (two well-natured elderly dogs: chihuahua and black lab mix) - Running the occasional errand. - Changing water filters. - Going up in to attic to store or remove items. - Chopping vegetables, potatoes, fruit etc…for later cooking/assembly by my mom. - Help and/or assistance on other items or projects on an as needed basis, within reason and your availability. We are looking for: - Someone who understands English (it’s OK if you cannot speak English very well). - Someone who is willing to learn my mom’s organization and cleaning systems; completing tasks in the way my mom prefer. This means being comfortable asking my mom or myself when you don’t know how to do something or where something goes (for instance, knives with wooden handles cannot go in the dishwasher, etc…) Someone willing to take on new tasks that may not be a part of their weekly responsibilities, and learn how to do these tasks the way my mom prefers. - Independent transportation is preferred, but my mom’s condo is a 5 minute walk away from a frequent route bus stop. Added Bonus: My Mom will also eventually need help with a number of projects (such as mucking, getting rid of items she no longer needs, file organization, computer organization etc…) This is a chance for additional hours if you are willing, but is not required to be hired for this position.
